Don’t forget the search engines are only one way to drive traffic to your site.
Other things you could consider are:
- Add an entry to Wikipedia and link your site to it
- Create a video for www.youtube.com for a product or service or just to get you noticed
- Run fun contests or other promotions
- Create an ebook
- Join forums and communities and pass on your knowedge for free
- Write an article for an article sharing website such as www.ezinearticles.com
- Create a subscription option for email updates and create a regular e-newsletter.
- Offer to be a guest writer for other websites or blogs
- Create a FREE company profile on www.freeindex.co.uk
- Create a page (Lens) on Squidoo.com
- Join a banner exchange program
- Contribute on other people’s wikis
- Create a fan page or a group on FaceBook
- Use a socialiser button on your website so visitors can bookmark and share
- Contribute on Yahoo Answers
- Join a Banner Rotator Program
- Swap articles with other blog owners and other webmasters
- Create promotional items displaying your url – pens, pencils, stickers
- get a logo on your van or a decal advert on your rear screen
- List your website on your local library’s website or local council’s website
- Start your own Internet radio show
- Get interviewed on other people’s Internet radio shows
- Register and advertise your business on some of the free advertising websites listed here
- Join and participate on experts.com or websites for your industry expertise
- Use digg.com
