Most people realise Google is currently the number 1 search engine in the world so it makes sense to build websites to rank highly on it. What most people don’t understand is that the position at which a website is listed on Google is not random. When you type in a search string, google ranks each relevant site based on Google Algorithm, which in essence calculates a score based on a “secret” points system, and list sites according to the highest score.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a form of website marketing. Search Engine Optimization is the process of making your site appear at the top of as high as possible on search engine results, preferably on at least the front page, for your specific keywords and phrases. The higher your website ranks in the results of Google, Yahoo, MSN etc., the greater the chance that your site will be visited and found by potential user/customers.
